Day 4

Day 4 Today I will listen for your voice directly and not rely on what someone else has heard you say.

When I see people struggling with listening to what others have to say when we talk about God and our relationship with him, I realize that for many of them it’s because they don’t have or feel as if they have that personal relationship with Christ. So it’s hard for them to relate to how we may feel about God, and about his existence. About why we worship and adore him. How we go to him in prayer and how we rely on him daily.

It’s not until you come to a personal relationship with our lord and savior that you get it. Until you seek out his word for yourself. Spend some time in prayer with him or spend some time studying his word. That’s when the relationship changes. That’s why this time we are spending with God right now is so wonderful. For many of us we don’t have the same stuff distracting us that we did before. I know for me, I am more determined than ever to carve out that time even when things go back to “normal”!

And as much as I have learned by listening to others talk about Christ and listening to them give their testimony. I understand that none of that matters if I don’t seek him out myself. Like Sheila said...that one on one conversation!

So has anyone ever counseled you? Were you receptive to the conversation or did you put up walls. When did you first feel like God was speaking directly to you and how did that make you feel?

I loved the prayer she included at the end! I think we all want to have that one on one conversation with God. Where we truly feel as if we are connected to him. Well, if you don’t actually make time to spend with him…how will you hear from him?

How did John 10:14-16 make you feel?
