Day 5
Day 5 Today I will
practice keeping my mind “stayed on you”.
OK.
How many of us actually practice keeping our mind stayed on God?
That one kind of slapped me in the face. Do I really keep
my mind stayed on Jesus like the song says? Am I being intentional in seeking
him out as a regular part f my day?
Or do
I get easily distracted?
Anyone
else besides me experience what Pat did in the book? When you are going through
some tough times. Do you turn to him? I said in my sermon last Sunday that I
had a peace that I didn’t even understand despite the pandemic. I think I
finally understood the scripture about having the kind of peace that surpasses
all understanding. Because frankly if there was ever a time to panic, now would
be that time. Instead I keep wondering why everyone is running around going
crazy because they are being told to just sit still. Chill out and just stay in
place.
We
complain all of the time about wanting the world to slow down so we can catch
our breath and here we are and people are fussing because they couldn’t go to
the beach or get their nails done.
We
have become a society that wants everything we want, when we want it, no matter
what. But this devotional reminds us to keep our focus on God.
God
truly is our strength in hard times. A present help in a time of need. So lean
on him.
What
do you think keeps you from putting all of your faith into our Father God? Ask
yourself how you can do better in that department.
When
will God be enough? No matter what you are going through. What is keeping you
so distracted that you put him on the back burner? Maybe its time to trust in
the Lord!
